Samsung Galaxy Note5 - Next is Now

I got my first Samsung mobile phone, a Samsung Galaxy S2, back in October 2011 right before I travelled to Europe for an autumn holiday. I was pleasantly surprised with, and totally loved how the photos of autumn that I took using the phone turned out to be. Since then, I just got hooked with Samsung mobile phones. So naturally I got quite excited when I found out about the launch roadshow for new Samsung Galaxy Note5, #myGalaxyNote5, at Sunway Pyramid, just outside Kuala Lumpur.

Whilst at the roadshow in Sunway Pyramid, I managed to play with the new Note5 and was quite impressed with its features. It was here when I realised that the first of Galaxy Note series was introduced back in 2011. It turned out that Samsung is also commemorating the Galaxy Note5 with a celebration of the Note Legacy.

The Note Legacy basically started a mobile revolution and a new standard in the smartphone culture in 2011. In 2012, Yuna worked together with Samsung to create and compose her first ever music video, Sparkle, that was shot and animated entirely on a Galaxy Note II. Aaron Aziz then helped build the Note story in 2013, inspiring his Malaysian fans to widen their horizons and follow their dreams through his notes. Creativity was then seen at its finest in 2014 when Puan Sri Tiara Jacquelina, Lynn Lim as well as Jinnyboy & Reuben took the S Pen functionality of the Note4 to greater levels of productivity and shared their personal “live” arts. Do however expect that Samsung to push creativity even further this year with the Note5 through a series of activities with all these 5 personalities in the upcoming months.

Totally in love with this Galaxy Note5 in gold platinum colour.

Being the latest version of Galaxy Note series, the Note5 provides the most refined Note experience to-date as it combines all the latest technology that anyone can expect from a mobile phone. I love the design, which is sleek and fits into my hand nicely. The camera, with 16MP OIS (5MP for front camera), is perfect for low light photography, whether using the rear or front cameras, as both have apertures of f1.9. If you’ve followed my Instagram, you’d note that I like to play with lighting as well from time to time. So this is pretty cool and handy for me.

Another cool and definitely handy feature is the ability for me to capture lengthy web articles or long images at once via the “Scroll capture”. There’s no more need to screen capture several photos to get a complete picture of anything. Oh! The dual SIM card feature is very useful if you have two numbers, one for office and another for home, or if you travel quite frequent and usually get a local SIM card at your destinations.

Have I told you that I love Galaxy Note5? ;-)

However, what I love the most about Galaxy Note5, after playing around with it, is that it is perfect for multi-taskers. The new S Pen feels solid and balanced, and it offers improved writing capabilities with a variety of practical tools. Taking notes on the go would no longer feel such a hassle. I could just click on the S Pen to pop it out and quickly jot down anything on the screen even when the screen is off and without having to unlock it. I mean, how cool is that? For example, imagine you’re waiting to get through immigration at an airport where you’re supposed to switch off your phone but you need to quickly jot down an idea or information that you’ve just got?

The improved S Pen and design really makes the Note5 ready to handle whatever life throws your way.
